Fossils

  • Times Available: Tuesday - Friday, 10:15am, 11:15am, 12:15pm (2 classrooms)

  • Requirements: Must register for program at least four weeks in advance of your group's visit.
    Minimum age 6 years.

What can we learn from fossils? What do they tell us about the history of Earth? Through hands-on investigations, students will compare a variety of fossils, learn how fossilized plants and animals reveal clues to the past, and discover how life has changed over time.
Program length is 45 minutes.

This program is held onsite at our Downtown Raleigh location.

Scheduling Instructions: Scheduling is now closed for the 2025/2026 school year. Scheduling for the upcoming school year will begin on Tuesday, July 28 for programs in October–January, and Tuesday, August 25 for programs in February–May. A link to the scheduling request form will be added once scheduling begins.

Please note that only 2 adults (school staff only) can attend each program. At least one teacher must attend. Chaperones can explore the Museum during the program time.
