We will hike the Ridges Mountain Nature Preserve trail and learn about its interesting history and natural history. Located in the Uwharrie Mountains just west of Asheboro, John Lawson wrote about his visits to this area during his journey exploring North and South Carolina over 300 years ago. Our trip will include visits to some interesting rock formations and upland pools where amphibians breed.
