Dr. Christian Kammerer, Research Head of Paleontology, was featured on the latest episode of Sci NC for his discovery and ongoing recovery of the first complete skeleton of a dicynodont anywhere in North America. The animal lived ~225 million years ago in what is now North Carolina’s Piedmont. Also making an appearance are Paleontology Collections Manager Sean Moran, Fossil Preparator Aubrey Knowles, and Museum volunteers Jaren Abraham and Tristen Lefferty.
Dr. Adrian Smith, Head of the Evolutionary Biology Research Lab, is featured later in the same episode with his video of millipedes crawling in slow motion and an interview with millipede expert Derek Hennen.
And if that wasn’t enough, Collections Manager for Non-molluscan Invertebrates Megan McCuller introduces the Sci NC audience (and hosts) to the wonderful world of bryozoans.
