Museum debuts Adult Nights with Halloween-themed “Nocturnal by Nature” Oct. 27

RALEIGH — Adults 21 and up, we’ve heard your cry! Adult Nights at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences makes its debut with “Nocturnal by Nature” on Thursday, October 27 inside the Museum’s Nature Research Center from 7 to 10 p.m. The Halloween-themed event is the first of many Adult Nights at the Museum designed to bring out a mature crowd for more than just science. At “Nocturnal by Nature,” you can dance in the 3-story SECU Daily Planet Theater, featuring music by SPIN, meet some Museum creepy-crawlies face to face, check out rarely-seen Museum specimens in the “Hall of Oddities,” and perfect your “Thriller” moves with the Elevate zombie dancers. Watch a creature come to life during a Gregory F/X live makeup demo and learn how to glow in the dark with bioluminescence. You might even catch a few “dead scientists” roaming throughout this ghoulish get-down!
Of course, what Halloween party would be complete without costumes? If your costume is wicked-scary or wicked-cool, you could win a prize. Tickets are $15, $10 for Members. Beer, wine, cocktails and food will be available for purchase. You must be 21 years or older to attend. A photo ID is required for entry.
COSTUME AND MASK POLICY
For the safety of all visitors, we ask that guests refrain from wearing masks or other items that obscure their face. Costumes should not contain any elements that resemble, or could easily be mistaken for, an actual weapon. The Museum reserves the right to turn away any guest with a costume that we deem offensive or unsafe.
