Since 1987, the Museum has been providing impactful experiences for North Carolina educators in outstanding natural areas across the state and beyond. This year, 11 educators were selected from a very competitive application pool to participate in the Yellowstone in Winter Educator Trek.

From January 15-22, 2020, these educators will travel to Yellowstone National Park to experience first-hand the beauty and solitude of its winter landscape, abundant wildlife, and fascinating thermal features. The group will learn from Museum educators and local experts about the ecology, geology and history of the park and strategies for its conservation and management.

You are invited to follow our adventure on the Yellowstone in Winter blog here.

A brilliant sunset dips behind a shadowy, snowy mountain.

We hope that through this experience, each of the 11 participating educators will return to their classrooms renewed in their passion for teaching, full of new information to enliven their curriculum, and excited to share their winter Yellowstone experience with their students. Discover more information on Museum programs for educators here.
