Caterpillars Count and Climate (NC Climate Change Challenge Researcher Lecture)

  • Thursday, September 29, 2022
  • 7:30pm - 8:30pm

How can caterpillars help us learn about climate change?  Join us for this special NC Climate Change Challenge lecture by UNC Chapel Hill researcher Dr. Allen Hurlbert to learn more about his Caterpillars Count citizen science project and what we can discover about climate change and phenology from people everywhere making simple observations of insects on trees.

This free lecture requires pre-registration and will be held via Zoom.  Please contact Chris Goforth at chris.goforth@naturalsciences.org if you wish to attend to get the Zoom link.

This program is part of the NC Climate Change Challenge, a year-long project aiming to help people across North Carolina get involved in climate change research.  Each of the four seasons will have a focal citizen science project, lectures, and a forum to learn more about the local impacts of climate change on our state.  Complete the quarterly challenge to earn equipment and badges!  Learn more
