Program Description

Rising Grades 9–12 (in 2026–2027 school year)

Climate Resilience Camp is a week-long summer STEM enrichment program for high school students. The week is focused on exploring impacts of natural disasters and extreme weather and investigating strategies for increasing resilience in their communities.

Students will take part in hands-on activities on extreme heat, flooding, and air quality; explore resilience and possible solutions; and meet professionals working in climate-related fields. All participants are encouraged to lead an optional service project in their community during the school year and will receive project suggestions and support for implementation.

This program uses activities created in partnership with the UNC Center for Public Engagement with Science, who received a grant from the National Science Foundation’s Award #DRL-2215420 with Principal Investigator Kathleen Gray and Co-Principal Investigator Sarah Yelton.
