Join us for an engaging discussion, all about birds! Learn about the importance of bird banding as a tool for understanding migration patterns, population dynamics, and the overall health of avian communities. Discover the challenges and rewards of fieldwork, learn about the journey of a bird through the collection, and gain a deeper appreciation for the vital role of collections in biodiversity research.

About our presenter

Kira Nuviae is double majoring in fisheries & wildlife biology and biochemistry at North Carolina State University. She previously interned with the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission’s Habitat Conservation Division and is a current Museum Ornithology Lab Technician. She works with all sorts of alive and not so alive birds and hopes to use this knowledge to help streamline collection processes.
