About our presenter

Dr. Jose Bruno-Barcena is a microbiologist who bridges research and industry to advance biotechnology. He has developed innovative processes for creating and preserving probiotic products, like the multi-strain cocktail now sold as Bioflora-Biosidus. Before joining North Carolina State University, he established a successful biotech pilot plant that was transitioned to a private company in Spain. Over the past two decades at NCSU, he has played a vital role in teaching and training students and industry professionals. His research focuses on microbial processes and sustainable fermentation technologies.
