Hear about the science and technology that NASA and NOAA use to track whales from space with NASA JPL Solar System Ambassador Tony Verdone. Collisions with ships is one of the leading causes of death among large whales. Tracking whale populations from space provides scientists and agencies with data to inform management decisions and conservation actions, including methods to keep whales from being hit and killed by big ships. Join us in the SECU Daily Planet Theater for this special presentation at noon.

Go inside the globe of the SECU Daily Planet Theater for live presentations and interactive shows led by scientists and educators. Meet researchers, witness live demonstrations, and engage in Q&A sessions with experts. With ever-changing topics and guests, there’s always something new and exciting to learn.
