Please note that the January Science Café will take place on the fourth Thursday. Future Science Cafés will continue to be on third Thursdays of each month.

Grab a bite from the Daily Planet Café and join host Chris Smith for our monthly Science Café. Gather with other curious minds at this after-hours event for an informal presentation and conversation about current science topics with guest experts. The Daily Planet Café is open 5–8pm with a full menu during the Science Café.

Join us in-person or watch on YouTube at https://youtube.com/live/ypIffagDKnI.

Join Nick Eakes, NASA/JPL Solar System Ambassador and Astronomy Educator from Morehead Planetarium and Science Center, to discuss Artemis– NASA’s new lunar exploration program.

For the first time in over 50 years, humanity is going to set foot on the Moon – sending the first woman and first person of color to the lunar surface. Through the Artemis missions, NASA will implement new technology to study our closest neighbor in new and better ways, with the ultimate goal of preparing for future human missions to Mars and beyond. Nick will provide the history and context of the Artemis program as well as updates on where we are in the mission timeline.
