Plodding ever onward, NASA’s Curiosity Rover has overcome the difficulties of getting to Mars; battled seven minutes of landing terror; endured brutal Martian elements, and improvised fixes in the face of impending equipment failure to deliver awe-inspiring images and scientific results.  Join us as NASA/JPL Solar System Ambassador Ken Brandt celebrates 10 years of scientific discovery and innovation from the Curiosity Rover.

Our speaker:

Ken Brandt is the director of the Robeson Planetarium and Science Center in Lumberton, NC and a NASA/JPL Solar System Ambassador. He is a US Navy veteran, a former high school teacher, and is Nationally Board Certified. In addition to his duties at the planetarium, he is also an astronomy lecturer at USC Beaufort.  When he’s not teaching about JPL and NASA’s excellent exploration programs, he is a devoted husband and father of three wonderful daughters, and a grandfather to two excellent grandbabies.
