The Synchronous Firefly and Blue Ghost Firefly in our mountains attract thousands of people to watch their dazzling light shows. Learn about the recent discovery of a Piedmont form of the Blue Ghost Firefly in the Triangle area, possibly a new species, and how you can join the great Carolina Ghost Hunt. Join scientists, educators, and citizens on this hunt to discover where they live, their habitat requirements, and more about their life history. You may discover them living right in your backyard!
