Catawba College is a leader in campus sustainability. Since 1996, its Center for the Environment has been a living-learning laboratory for campus sustainability that provides hands-on environmental learning opportunities for students. In 2023, the College was the 13th Nationwide and first certified institution in the southeast to reach full carbon neutrality. This Earth Day, join Dr. Lee Ball in the NC Museum of Natural Sciences Daily Planet Theater to learn how Catawba is continuing its vision and mission through its Campus as Forest program, which blends education, sustainability, and nature, creating an environment that fosters learning, well-being and ecological responsibility.
