Lifelong Longleaf Hike: Green Swamp Preserve

  • Wednesday, March 13, 2024
  • 7:00am - 6:00pm

Our spring hikes will be in the Land of the Longleaf Pine in partnership with the North Carolina Botanical Garden’s Saving Our Savannas program series.  The Botanical Garden, with partner organizations, has developed an exciting schedule of hikes, lectures and workshops covering the history, ecology and culture of longleaf pine communities.  Learn more about this exciting program series.

The longleaf pine story continues as we explore one of the best examples of a longleaf pine savanna remaining in North Carolina.  Venus flytraps, pitcher plants and other carnivorous plants dot the grassy landscape under the dappled shade of longleaf pines in this Nature Conservancy Preserve.
