Lifelong Hike: Holly Shelter Carnivorous Plant Foray

We will explore the longleaf pine savannas and associated pocosins of Holly Shelter State Game Land in Pender County searching for Venus flytraps, pitcher plants, butterworts and sundews, along with a variety of colorful native orchids in bloom this time of year.

Please note: You will be required to enter the following information for each registrant before you can complete your registration: emergency contact, physician contact and health information (allergies, conditions, medications relevant to this field experience). Take a moment to gather this information before beginning your registration.

  • Fee: $15 per participant; $10 per member participant.
  • Requirements: Minimum age 18.
  • Cancellation Notice: Refunds only issued if the Museum cancels the trip, or if cancellation is made in one of the following ways at least two weeks prior to the trip date: Either in writing via email to Missy Chernick or through the Museum box office (919.707.9950). We cannot issue credits, rain checks, or transfers for these trips.
