Lifelong Adventure: Stone Mountain

Our mountain adventure will include a day hike on Tuesday across the expansive granite dome of Stone Mountain. On Monday and Wednesday we will explore some shorter trails along the Blue Ridge Parkway and nearby areas. Accommodations and meals are provided by the Laurel Ridge Retreat Center just off the Blue Ridge Parkway. Everything will be taken for granite on this adventure!

Please note: You will be required to enter the following information for each registrant before you can complete your registration: emergency contact, physician contact and health information (allergies, conditions, medications relevant to this field experience). Take a moment to gather this information before beginning your registration.

Details

  • Fee: $250 per participant; $150 per additional participant sharing room. Fee covers travel from Raleigh, lodging and most meals. Participant pays for lunch on Monday and Wednesday.
  • Requirements: Minimum age 18.
  • Cancellation Notice: Refunds only issued if the Museum cancels the trip, or if cancellation is made in one of the following ways at least two weeks prior to the trip date: Either in writing via email to Missy Chernick or through the Museum box office (919.707.9950). We cannot issue credits, rain checks, or transfers for these trips.

  • Activity Level: Moderate (4.5-mile hike on Stone Mountain will be moderately strenuous, but we will take our time to enjoy the scenery with plenty of rest breaks).
