  • Sunday, May 01, 2022
  • 7:00am - 7:00pm

horseshoe lake

Horseshoe Lake is an expansive, partially water-filled Carolina Bay—the largest in one of the country’s most extensive Carolina Bay complexes. We will paddle along floating bog mats, pitcher plants and pond cypress as we explore this ecologically significant natural area by boat. Rich in plant and animal diversity, Horseshoe Lake is a unique natural area that is considered nationally significant by the NC Heritage Program.
