Jerry’s Backyard Nature – Wake Audubon Society Monthly Meeting

  • Tuesday, February 08, 2022
  • 7:00pm - 9:00pm

Lady's Slipper Orchids

Jerry Reynolds, Head of Outreach at the NC Museum of Natural Sciences, lives in rural Johnston County near Clayton. Behind his house is a 50-acre mixed forest, unremarkable except that it’s still there! We are rapidly and constantly losing these small forested tracts, almost without notice. But Jerry notices! He mourns the loss of native plants and animals being literally scraped off the landscape by our growing population. Since moving to Johnston County in 2004, Jerry has photographed and documented the plants, fungi, and wildlife in his backyard and the adjacent forest. From ghost fireflies to least brook lampreys to the Amazing Possum Hole Chronicles, he will share some of that diversity through photographs and videos.

This is a Wake Audubon Society program.  For more information, please contact Jeff Beane.
