Bring the excitement of dinosaurs to your classroom! Join us at the NC Museum of Natural Sciences in downtown Whiteville where we will embark on a prehistoric adventure. Learn how to capture young children’s excitement about the latest dinosaur discoveries to spark a love of science learning. This year’s workshop will focus on Triceratops and Tyrannosaurus rex, which are not only some of the most popular dinosaurs but the centerpieces of the Museum’s newest dinosaur acquisition – the Dueling Dinosaurs.
At the end of the workshop, eligible teachers will receive one hundred dollars’ worth of science, math and literacy materials, a dinosaur tote bag, and an activity-filled flash drive. Dinner will be served at 6:00pm!
Credit: 2.5 CEUs for Early Childhood Renewal Credit; 2.5 contact hours toward CEUs or Criteria III for North Carolina’s Environmental Education Certification Program

Eligibility: To be eligible to receive the $100 worth of materials, registrants must primarily be educators of preschool children ages 3 to 5 years old. Additionally, over 51% of your students must be from low to moderate income (LMI) families. The LMI household income limit varies by county:
Columbus or Robeson: $41,840
Cumberland or Pender: $42,240
Bladen: $25,900

All in-person programs will follow current state and federal health guidelines and apply a range of safety measures to mitigate health risks, including wearing masks while indoors, in vehicles, or in close proximity in the outdoors; smaller class sizes; moving into larger rooms (if indoors); keeping participants a safe distance from each other; and increasing sanitation efforts.
