Bring the excitement of dinosaurs to your classroom! Join us virtually on Zoom as we embark on a prehistoric adventure. Learn how to capture young children’s excitement about the latest dinosaur discoveries to spark a love of science learning. This year’s workshop will focus on Triceratops and Tyrannosaurus rex, which are not only some of the most popular dinosaurs but the centerpieces of the Museum’s newest dinosaur acquisition – the Dueling Dinosaurs.
Upon completion of the workshop, eligible teachers will receive by mail $100 worth of science, math, and literacy materials, a dinosaur tote bag, and an activity-filled flash drive (information on eligibility below). Teachers will use the materials to complete 0.5 hours of homework to earn the full 2 hours of credit. Teachers will have one month to complete homework, homework due on May 3, 2022
Credit: Eligible registrants will receive 2 hours (1.5 synchronous and 0.5 asynchronous, once materials arrive) for Early Childhood Renewal Credit CEUs or for Criteria III hours for North Carolina’s Environmental Education Certification Program
Non-eligible registrants will receive 1.5 hours of credits. The 0.5 hours of homework is optional and may be completed if you choose to provide your own materials.
Eligibility: To be eligible to receive the $100 worth of materials, registrants must primarily be educators of preschool children ages 3 to 5 years old. Additionally, over 51% of your students must be from low to moderate income (LMI) families. The LMI household income limit varies by county:
