Hear what the latest research tells us about WHALES — from amazing new discoveries to ongoing conservation efforts to revealing prehistoric origins — with some of the nation’s top whale scientists in this four-part lecture series.

Tales of Whales: Why Conservation Matters

How do we save the whales? Join world-renowned conservation biologist and Duke University professor Dr. Andy Read as he takes us on a journey through time and space to explore this critical question. Drawing from a lifetime of work with some of the world’s most critically endangered whale species, Read will share stories of both the triumphs and challenges of whale conservation. Discover the science and strategies behind saving these magnificent creatures.

Enjoy the lecture (7–8pm) and an evening viewing of the “Blue Whales” special exhibition (open 5–7pm).
