Bird Calls of the Piedmont

  • Friday, April 24, 2026
  • 9:00am - 10:30am
  • Prairie Ridge

What are birds saying to each other? Come join us for a morning bird walk for ages 8+ focused on listening and learning some local bird calls. Learn about how birds use sound to communicate, how to identify some local birds by sound, and how you can contribute to ongoing collaborative science projects mapping biodiversity and soundscapes in Raleigh. We will also be kicking off the first day of the City Nature Challenge! We will go on a leisurely walk around Prairie Ridge, so wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather. Bring binoculars if you have them, but we will have pairs to spare!

Registration is required to attend this program.
