The City Nature Challenge is an international event focused on documenting biodiversity. Join us to document the birds of Prairie Ridge so our local species become a part of the event! Bring a camera of any sort (phone, point and shoot, DSLR or mirrorless) and be ready to learn about birds and how to share your observations for the City Nature Challenge.
Please come dressed for the weather as we will be outside the entire length of the program, though we will be in a covered space part of our time together. Bring a filled water bottle. If you have a pair of binoculars you love, bring them, but we’ll provide them to anyone who wants them. We also have binoculars adapters so you can connect your phone to take better photos of birds from further away. If possible, download the iNaturalist app and create an account prior to the start of the program.
This program is best for ages 10+. Meet your leader in the Outdoor Classroom at the start of the program, a 3-5 minute walk down the gravel path from the parking lot.
