The Art of Science series is for adults who like to blend science and art. Each program will include hands-on experience with a citizen science project paired with an associated art project. Participants will take home their project and tools so they can make additional projects on their own.
In this program, we will explore fireflies before we make light up firefly string art! Instructions for collecting and submitting firefly data and making your string art will be provided during the program — no experience required. Your program fee covers all the supplies you’ll need to make a 12×12″ string art panel on site and the tools to make more on your own. Information about where to source additional boards will be provided.
Pre-registration is required for this in-person program for adults and there is a fee to attend ($20 members, $22 non-members).
This program will be conducted entirely outdoors, at least partly in an unheated covered space exposed to the outdoors. Please come prepared for a short walk over uneven terrain by wearing sturdy closed-toed shoes and dressing for the weather.
