The Art of Science series is for adults who like to blend science and art. Each program will include hands-on experience with a citizen science project paired with an associated art project. Participants will take home their project and tools so they can make additional projects on their own.
In this program, we will explore cloud types before we make cyanotypes (sun prints)! Instructions for collecting and submitting cloud data and making your own cyanotypes will be provided during the program — no experience required. Your program fee covers all the supplies you’ll need to make paper and one fabric cyanotype (a tote bag) as well as chemicals to take home so you can make more on your own.
Pre-registration is required for this in-person program for adults, and there is a fee to attend ($18 members; $20 non-members).

This program is intended for adults and will be conducted entirely outdoors, at least partly in a covered space. Please come prepared for a short walk over uneven terrain by wearing sturdy closed-toed shoes and dressing for the weather. Long pants, a wide-brimmed hat, and sunscreen are recommended for our citizen science data collecting time. We will be in a covered, shaded space for the art part of the program and working with chemicals that can stain fabrics, so please plan your attire appropriately. Questions? Contact Chris Goforth.
