Art of Science: Birds and Loom Knitting

  • Saturday, January 20, 2024
  • 1:00pm - 4:00pm

In this program, we will explore birds before we make loom-knitted owl character hats! Instructions for collecting and submitting bird data and making your hat will be provided during the program — no experience required. Your program fee covers all the supplies you’ll need to make one hat on site and enough materials so you can make one more on your own at home.

Pre-registration is required for this in-person program for adults and there is a fee to attend ($18 members; $20 non-members). Please register here.

This program will be conducted entirely outdoors, at least partly in an unheated covered space exposed to the outdoors. Please come prepared for a short walk over uneven terrain by wearing sturdy closed-toed shoes and dressing for the weather. Long pants, a wide-brimmed hat, and sunscreen are recommended for our citizen science data collecting time.
