Join us for an evening celebrating the wondrous American woodcock! American woodcocks conduct an incredible courtship display each February, and we’re gathering to watch this wonderful show. From 5–6pm we’ll head out for a general bird walk of Prairie Ridge, before we gather to watch and listen for the American woodcocks around 6pm. Believe it or not, the show will be over by 6:30pm!
This is a free program that requires registration. Register here.
Please come dressed for the weather (dress in layers!) and be prepared to take a walk on uneven ground at dusk. We will have binoculars available to borrow, but recommend bringing flashlights for the walk back to your car. Please note that this program is intended for adults. If you are interested in bringing your family to see the woodcocks, we have a family program on February 9!
