The third Friday of May is Endangered Species Day. It’s a day to celebrate success in protecting endangered species and to recognize the threatened and endangered species that need conservation action. Join scientists from the NCMNS Biodiversity Research Lab and NCMNS Mammalogy Collection in the SECU Daily Planet Theater to hear a series of short presentations about endangered species in North Carolina and around the world. Our scientists will share stories of their work and research on endangered species, such as red wolves, right whales, jaguars, black rhinos, and black-footed ferrets. After the presentations, we’ll discuss how the Museum is acting to save species in NC and beyond.
