Join scientists from North Carolina State University and Duke Evolutionary Anthropology to learn about lemurs for World Lemur Day!
Lemurs are primates that only live on the island of Madagascar off the southeast coast of Africa. More than 100 species of lemurs have been identified by researchers and the vast majority of them are considered threatened or endangered with extinction. Lemurs are considered the most endangered group of mammals on Earth. Visit the 3rd floor of the Nature Research Center at the Genomics & Microbiology Research Lab to meet scientists who conduct research on lemurs to learn more about these fascinating animals and how science is helping protect lemurs from extinction.
