Purple martins return each spring to Prairie Ridge to nest and raise their young. While they are here, each week we check on their nests and record the data through a citizen science project called NestWatch.
Join us for a special program on these beautiful birds and learn how we check nests. We will have a guest ornithologist with us to help answer any questions. This is an adult program. No preregistration necessary. We will be out in the open so please dress for the weather — a hat and sunscreen are recommended. Also, please wear closed-toed shoes and bring a refillable water bottle. We will meet outside the classroom building, a short walk down the gravel path from the front entrance.
