From Pokémon to Disney musicals, from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to Harry Potter, reptiles and amphibians make plenty of appearances in pop culture. These characters influence how we think and feel about reptiles and amphibians. We will bust common myths portrayed by pop culture representations of herps and explore how fiction can provide an outlet for celebrating these animals too. Bring something to draw on, so you can create your own fictional “herptile” story to share with the group.
This program is geared toward children in grades K–8 and their families, but all are welcome! You will learn about the ecoEXPLORE project during the program.
