Venture into the beautiful and mysterious world of lichens in this program for ages 8+! We’ll walk through the bottomlands of Prairie Ridge as we look for lichens, learn to identify them, and contribute lichen observations to the global collaborative science project iNaturalist. We will learn about lichen ecology, biology, and how they are crucial kin. Meet in the Outdoor Classroom, a 3-5 minute walk down the gravel path from the parking lot. From there we will take a leisurely quarter mile stroll down to the creek.
This program will take place entirely outdoors, so dress for the weather. Bring water and a notebook if you’d like.
