Join Naturalist Mike Dunn for a brief tour of some of the bizarre stranger-than-fiction scenes of body snatchers he has discovered while wandering about the woods and fields of North Carolina. From zombie fungi to parasitoid mind-control, take a look at some of the creepier behaviors of our invertebrate neighbors as we approach this Halloween season.
Mike Dunn is a lifelong naturalist-educator who resided in a parcel of woods in Chatham County until last May. He and his wife now reside in Gardiner, MT, at the north entrance to their favorite place, Yellowstone National Park. He retired from the state of North Carolina after 36 years working with the State Parks System, the NC Museum of Natural Sciences and the NC Botanical Garden. He has conducted hundreds of programs and workshops on the natural world on topics ranging from wildlife in Yellowstone to insects in your backyard. Mike continues to learn and share his observations of nature through his blog as the Roads End Naturalist.
This program is a collaboration between Wake Audubon Society and NC Museum of Natural Sciences.
