Food waste is a global problem negatively impacting everything from community food security to the environment. In the U.S. each year, about 40% of all food is thrown away \u2014 about 119 billion pounds (or 130 billion meals) worth more than $480 billion! Join Asheville Buncombe Food Policy Council Coordinator Gina Smith and Asheville chef Steven Goff for a discussion on what Western North Carolina is doing as a community to address food waste and some tasty ideas for reducing food waste in your own home kitchen.<\/p>\n
