Photo: NCWRC.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>This workshop takes place over two days: Day 1 will be 10am to 3pm on Wednesday, July 9,\u00a0 AND Day 2 will be 9am- 3pm on Thursday, July 10 (or, in the event of rain, July 16-17).<\/p>\n<p>Join us in the search for one of North Carolina\u2019s rarest fishes, the federally endangered Carolina Madtom, found only in the Neuse and Tar River Basins in North Carolina. Join expert biologists as we explore the natural history of the madtom, learn about challenges and ongoing restoration practices for the species, and participate in field monitoring of this cool little catfish. Discover how you can bring the excitement of field research of this rare species into your classroom.<\/p>\n<p>With support from the US Fish and Wildlife Service,\u00a0<strong>Project RESTORE<\/strong>\u00a0<em>(Rescuing Endangered Species Through Outreach, Restoration and Education)<\/em>\u00a0will feature a suite of educational opportunities for teachers and students to participate in restoration and monitoring of imperiled and endangered species in eastern North Carolina.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eligibility:\u00a0<\/strong>This workshop is open to educators (includes teachers, administrators, pre-service or substitute teachers; non-formal educators; anyone working on their EE certification)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Credit:<\/strong> 11 contact hours toward CEUs or Criteria II\/III for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eenorthcarolina.org\/certification\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">North Carolina\u2019s Environmental Education Certification Program<\/a><\/p>\n<p><b>This workshop is <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">full<\/span>. Please join the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/naturalsciences.org\/calendar\/educator-trek-waiting-list-request\/\">waiting list<\/a>!<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The full workshop fee is due when you register and payment is via credit card. Registration for most Educator Treks is on a first-come, first-served basis.
