Escapades of the Early Botanists<\/h3>\n

UNC Press author Georgann Eubanks will talk about two young botanists who explored the Blue Ridge Mountains near Blowing Rock, North Carolina, in 1894. What they found were two incredible wildflowers \u2014 the Yadkin River Goldenrod and Heller\u2019s Blazing Star, now federally endangered but carefully protected. Beyond this expedition, these two young men would go on to become prominent experts in the field, helping to preserve critical species still in the wild today.<\/p>\n
