Bring the excitement of dinosaurs to your classroom! Join us at the NC Museum of Natural Sciences in downtown Whiteville where we will embark on a prehistoric adventure. Learn how to capture young children\u2019s excitement about the latest dinosaur discoveries to spark a love of science learning. This year\u2019s workshop will focus on Triceratops<\/em> and Tyrannosaurus rex<\/em>, which are not only some of the most popular dinosaurs but the centerpieces of the Museum\u2019s newest dinosaur acquisition \u2013 the Dueling Dinosaurs.<\/p>\n

At the end of the workshop, eligible teachers will receive one hundred dollars’ worth of science, math and literacy materials, a dinosaur tote bag, and an activity-filled flash drive. Dinner will be served at 6:00pm!<\/p>\n

Credit:<\/strong> 2.5 CEUs for Early Childhood Renewal Credit; 2.5 contact hours toward CEUs or Criteria III for North Carolina’s Environmental Education Certification Program<\/a><\/p>\n

Registration information: This program is full.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Eligibility:<\/strong> To be eligible to receive the $100 worth of materials, registrants must primarily be educators of preschool children ages 3 to 5 years old. Additionally, over 51% of your students must be from low to moderate income (LMI) families. The LMI household income limit varies by county:<\/p>\n

Columbus or Robeson: $41,840
\nCumberland or Pender: $42,240
\nBladen: $25,900<\/p>\n

All in-person programs will follow current state and federal health guidelines and apply a range of safety measures to mitigate health risks, including wearing masks while indoors, in vehicles, or in close proximity in the outdoors; smaller class sizes; moving into larger rooms (if indoors); keeping participants a safe distance from each other; and increasing sanitation efforts.<\/em><\/p>\n
