We will hike through the world\u2019s largest population of the federally endangered smooth coneflower in peak bloom during this visit to the Picture Creek nature preserve.\u00a0 This power line corridor through a unique diabase geologic area gives us a good sense of what the piedmont prairies were like in earlier times. You will see wildflowers here that you don\u2019t see in most areas of the piedmont.<\/p>\n
