The purpose is to raise awareness of North Carolina museums as centers of education, community anchors, economic engines, employers, stewards of culture and history, and more!<\/p>\n<p>The North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences is the state\u2019s most visited museum, the largest institution of its kind in the Southeast, and one of the nation\u2019s most celebrated nature museums. It is not only a wonderful place for the public to visit, but as a research-based institution the Museum is also home to thousands of scientific specimens used by scientists to learn the secrets of the natural world.
