The show runs August 3–26, with a Gallery reception Saturday, August 4, 2–4 p.m. All exhibited art is for sale.

Ananda trained in drawing, stained glass, watercolor, oil painting and printmaking at the University of Virginia, receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1979. Now she works in acrylics and gels on canvas and paper. Having departed from years of realism, Ananda’s current style is semi-abstract, somewhat decorative and full of texture. Paintings often include trees, sky, birds and leaves. Illustrations are whimsical imaginative paintings or drawings of a wide range of subjects.

“Birds in their habitat inspire playful and contemplative paintings,” says Ananda, who is also an avid birder. She creates her paintings in the aptly named Bird Nest Studio, which she opens to the public during the annual Orange County Artists Guild Tour each November.

The Nature Art Gallery is located inside the Museum Store.
