[RALEIGH, N.C.] \u2014 Don\u2019t miss \u201cDia de la Ciencia y la Cultura<\/strong><\/a>\u201d (\u201cScience and Culture Day\u201d), a brand new and fully bilingual (Spanish-English) event celebrating science and Hispanic culture at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences, Saturday, August 3, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Free.)<\/p>\n Whether you\u2019re a science enthusiast, student or just curious, you\u2019ll enjoy engaging talks, interactive exhibits and hands-on activities with scientists and educators. Explore displays blending science with cultural traditions and history, and participate in fun educational activities for all ages.<\/p>\n Highlights include more than 40 displays where visitors can learn about bats, birds and butterfly migrations; the remarkable lips of sucker fish; prehistoric discoveries (including dinosaurs) with real fossils; the magic of magnetism; the snakes of North Carolina; and much more.<\/p>\n Tour the Living Conservatory \u2014 an exhibit designed to mimic a Central American tropical dry forest filled with living plants and animals, including butterflies, turtles, tarantulas, snakes and even a two-toed sloth.<\/p>\n You can also see what it was like when\u00a0dinosaurs\u00a0ruled the Earth in \u201cWalking with Dinosaurs 3D,\u201d the story of an underdog\u00a0dinosaur\u00a0that triumphs to become a hero for the ages. Or enjoy Takiri Folclor Latino, a group that showcases\u00a0Latin American\u00a0culture through dance.<\/p>\n \u201cD\u00eda de la Ciencia y la Cultura\u201d is presented by the NC Museum of Natural Sciences in partnership with the Consulate General of Mexico and the RedGlobalMX Raleigh Chapter.
