SUMMARY:Project RESTORE Educator Trek: Plants That Bite Back
DESCRIPTION:North Carolina is home to an amazing diversity of plants\, including some of the “most wonderful plants in the world\,” according to Charles Darwin. Discover and learn about our wonderful insect-eating plants and the habitats in which they thrive. \nWith support from the US Fish and Wildlife Service\, Project RESTORE (Rescuing Endangered Species Through Outreach\, Restoration\, and Education) will feature a suite of educational opportunities for teachers and students to participate in restoration and monitoring of imperiled and endangered species in eastern North Carolina. \nCredit: 16 contact hours toward CEUs or Criteria II/III for North Carolina’s Environmental Education Certification Program \nLodging: The workshop fee covers a one-night hotel stay near Wilmington\, double occupancy. \nTransportation: Participants can ride with the group from Raleigh departing at 8:30am or from Burgaw\, NC around 10:45am. Due to the circuitous nature of this workshop and the use of unimproved gravel roads\, there is not an option for participants to drive themselves to and from Wilmington.  Transportation will be in Museum vehicles. \nThis workshop is full. Please join our waiting list and we will contact you if a space opens for you! \n*The cost of this Trek is reduced due to a grant through the US Fish and Wildlife Service. Due to this reduction of costs\, Friends of the Museum discounts are unavailable.
