SUMMARY:Museum Movie Night: Gremlins 2: The New Batch
DESCRIPTION:Gremlins 2: The New Batch (1990)\n“We can’t let them get away. All they have to do is to eat three or four children and there’d be the most appalling publicity!” \nThe Gremlins are back at the Museum\, and this time\, science has gone way too far! When mischievous little monsters invade a high-tech research lab\, chaos reigns — from mutant gremlins to malfunctioning experiments. It’s a wacky mix of creature comedy\, corporate satire\, and gooey 80s nostalgia. Just remember: don’t feed them after midnight! \nThis movie is rated PG-13. \nMuseum Movie Night — a night of movies\, music\, and mind-blowing fun. Before the show\, enjoy live tunes\, hands-on science activities\, and tasty food and drinks. After the credits roll\, stick around for a science chat with an expert and movie trivia\, all hosted by A/V Geeks! \n  \nCheck out the upcoming movies and learn more about Museum Movie Night: Where Science meets the Cinema. \nBuy Tickets \n\nSchedule\n5:30pm–7pm: Live music and science stations. Food and drinks for sale.\n7pm: Movie begins in the WRAL 3D Theater\, followed by commentary and movie trivia. \nActivities\nGetting your Gremlins Outside!\nWhile Gremlins may avoid going out when it’s sunny\, it’s important for humans to explore outside. Learn about some fun ways to get yourself and your kids outside from the Museum’s Nature PlaySpace Specialist while creating a “Nature Gremlin” to take home! \nQuirky Gremlin Genetics\nPuzzle together what mutations created these quirky gremlins and see how these mutations are reflected in nature. \n Don’t Leave Home without a UV Bracelet!\nAt least\, not if you are a gremlin! Make a cool bracelet with UV beads that will let you know when you are being hit by those deadly rays of sunshine! \nOrigami Gremlins\nWho doesn’t want their very own origami Gizmo and Spike? \nUm\, What Actually ARE Gremlins?\nIt’s a bit of a mystery\, but come see some animal specimens that combined could make a gremlin! \nGremlins Shrinky Dinks\nYou know you need some Spike earrings! Color your masterpiece and make fun shrinky dink earrings or a keychain! \nOur Expert\n \nAfter the movie you’ll get a special Q&A session with this month’s expert\, Dr. Christian Kammerer! \nDr. Christian Kammerer is the Museum’s Research Curator of Paleontology and has a particular interest in the rise and fall of protomammals and the subsequent dominance of archosaurs. He investigates how mass extinctions shaped the modern vertebrate lineage\, including the origins of mammals\, dinosaurs\, and other iconic groups. Through fossil collection and analytical methods\, Dr. Kammerer brings ancient ecosystems to life\, offering insights into the resilience and adaptability of life on Earth. \n  \n\nAvailable Food\n\n\nBottled Water- $2.75 \n\n\nCanned Soda- $2.75 \n\n\nChips- $2.50 \n\n\nRice Crispy- $3.50 \n\n\nGiant Cookie- $2.50 \n\n\nCake Pop- $3.50 \n\n\nPopcorn- $4.00 \n\n\nHot Dog- $3.00 \n\n\nChicken Salad Wrap- $12.00 \n\n\nBuffalo Chicken Wrap- $12.00 \n\n\nVegan Blackened ‘Chicken’ Wrap- $12.00 \n\n\n\nMUSIC (5:30–7PM)\n\nSinger/songwriter William Woltz is a North Carolina native who covers a lot of musical territory.
