SUMMARY:Fall Bioblitz Scavenger Hunt
DESCRIPTION:We’re attempting to document all the fall species at Prairie Ridge and we need your help. Get started by joining our scavenger hunt! Bring a camera and pick up a scavenger hunt list at the table at the entrance. Find and photograph at least half of the items on the list and submit your observations to iNaturalist and you’ll have a chance of winning a set of clip on smart phone lenses!! \nThis program is self-led\, so you may hunt for items on the list 9:30am-3:30pm. Please dress for the weather\, wear closed-toed shoes\, and bring a filled water bottle and a phone or camera. The scavenger hunt list will be available at the entrance along with quick guides for using iNaturalist to help you submit your photos to our Fall Bioblitz. We’ll also provide a link to report your participation for a chance to win the prize.

DESCRIPTION:Join us for our Kids’ Outdoor Clothing/Gear Swap! New and lightly used children’s outdoor clothes\, shoes\, inclement-weather gear\, baby carriers and more will be available — free — for you to take home. Interested in donating items to the swap? Bring them the day-of or look for donation bins at the Prairie Ridge entrance kiosk and the Nature PlaySpace shed beginning Saturday\, September 16 during Prairie Ridge’s open hours. \nThe clothing swap will take place at the picnic table area adjacent to the Nature PlaySpace. When you’re done with your swapping needs\, head to the Nature PlaySpace\, where we’ll also be having a Nature Play Day! Please make sure your children are with you as move between the areas. \nThis is a free drop-in program beginning at 10:00am. While our Nature PlaySpace is designed for kids ages 7 and under\, all are welcome. Join us ay the Prairie Ridge pond for a morning of exploration and learning with our aquatic entomologist. Bring a camera so you can share the things you find on iNaturalist and contribute to our Fall Bioblitz! \nCome ready to get wet and muddy! Bring boots if you want to get in the pond and dress for the weather. Meet your leader at the pond. To get there\, walk along the grass between the prairie and the building\, following the edge of the prairie down a small hill where it dead ends. Go left and you’ll see the pond platforms and shed on the right\, a few minutes walk down the trail.
