SUMMARY:Lifelong Adventure: Topsail Island Sea Turtle
DESCRIPTION:Learn about sea turtles and possibly witness the hatching of sea turtles on Topsail Island.  Participants will spend evenings on the beach “nest sitting” — waiting for baby loggerhead sea turtles to leave their sandy nests.  Daytime hours can be spent swimming\, beach combing or catching up on sleep.  We will also visit the Topsail Sea Turtle Hospital to learn about their work in caring for sick and injured sea turtles. \nParticipants are responsible for motel reservations and costs.  Lodging information will be given upon completion of registration. \nPlease note: You will be required to enter the following information for each registrant before you can complete your registration: emergency contact\, physician contact and health information (allergies\, conditions\, medications relevant to this field experience). Take a moment to gather this information before beginning your registration. \nREGISTRATION IS FULL FOR THIS TRIP \nIf the trip is full\, please email Missy Chernick to be added to the waitlist. \nRegistration deadline:  Wednesday\, August 9 at 1:00 PM. \nFor additional information about this trip and other Lifelong Hikes & Adventures\, contact Jerry Reynolds at 919.707.9884.

SUMMARY:3D Movie: Oceans: Our Blue Planet
DESCRIPTION:Oceans 3D: Our Blue Planet\n“Oceans: Our Blue Planet” takes us on a global odyssey to discover the largest and least-explored habitat on Earth. New ocean technology has allowed us to delve further into the unknown than we ever thought possible. \nBeginning our journey in the warm coastal shallows\, we meet surfing dolphins\, and an ingenious tusk fish that uses a tool to crack-open its food. In the great forests of the sea\, we find a cunning octopus who shields herself in an armory of shells to hide from predators. \nAs we journey through our oceans\, we share these extraordinary discoveries and uncover a spectacular world of life beneath the waves. \nNarrated by Kate Winslet. \nBUY TICKETS TO OCEANS 3D\n

Enter a surreal world of bug-eyed giants and egg-laying mammals — where survival means enduring the sunless\, six-month polar winter surrounded by meat-eaters with night vision.
