DESCRIPTION:Come out and play! The Nature PlaySpace will be stocked with extra special materials and supplies to encourage play and a Museum play facilitator will be present to help you play your way. Supplies may vary from week to week\, but may include fun things like fort-building equipment\, puppets and costumes\, bubbles\, paint\, giant blocks\, and more. \nThis is a free\, drop-in event. Staff and supplies will be available from 10:00am -12:00pm. Come dressed for the weather and ready to get messy! DESCRIPTION:Explore the beautiful and mysterious world of lichens! Join us for a walk through the bottomlands of Prairie Ridge as we look for lichens\, learn to identify them\, and contribute lichen observations to the global collaborative science project iNaturalist. We will learn about lichen ecology\, biology\, and how they are crucial kin. \nThis program is for ages 8+. Meet in the Outdoor Classroom\, a 3-5 minute walk down the gravel path from the parking lot. From there we will take a leisurely stroll down to the creek\, about a quarter mile. Bring water\, a notebook if you’d like\, and dress for the weather.
