DESCRIPTION:Pungo Lake\, in Pocosin Lakes National Wildlife Refuge\, is a hot spot for huge flocks of Tundra Swans and Snow Geese that spend their winter here before their long migratory flight back to the Arctic region. Bear sightings are likely here too as the area has one of the highest densities of Black Bears known. \nPlease note: You will be required to enter the following information for each registrant before you can complete your registration: emergency contact\, physician contact and health information (allergies\, conditions\, medications relevant to this field experience). DESCRIPTION:Join us as we explore art outdoors\, mixing natural materials with traditional art disciplines\, testing new nature-based art techniques\, and using inspiration from nature to create artistic masterpieces. \nEach day will feature a different outdoor art activity – today’s activity is pinecone painting! Join us as we use paint and other materials to craft colorful pinecone creations that can be taken home to enjoy or given a new home in the Nature PlaySpace. \nThis drop-in program is designed for kids ages 7 and under and occurs outdoors from 10:30am – 11:30am at the picnic tables below the Nature PlaySpace. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Come dressed for the weather and prepared to get messy! \nArt Outdoors is a free program\, with a suggested donation of $5/child.
