From the dog-sized Tyrannosaur known as Moros\, to the burrowing species called Fona\, these dinosaurs reveal a unique ancient ecosystem. But what if these species were more than just interesting relics? What if the dinosaurs of prehistoric Utah actually held crucial lessons and warnings for climate change happening right now? By combining dinosaur evolution we see in Utah with ancient climate data\, we can see that dinosaurs experienced climate change that was eerily similar to today. \nAbout our Guest Expert \nEvan Jevnikar is a local paleontologist\, author\, and founder of Daily Dino Guy\, a science communication brand that teach millions of people around the globe about dinosaurs\, paleontology\, geology\, and biology. Evan received his Bachelor’s in Geology and the University of Kansas and received his Master’s in Biology at NC State under Dr. Lindsay Zanno. He has dug up dinosaur fossils across the United States\, including species like Nanotyrannus and Fona\, and conducted research on the growth of T. rex’s close cousin\, Tarbosaurus. His new book Surviving Climate and Chaos explores the surprising connection between climate change and dinosaur evolution and what this can teach us about our current period of global warming.
