SUMMARY:Educator Trek: Swamp Treehouse Adventure
DESCRIPTION:Leave your stress and worries behind and join us for a rejuvenating treehouse adventure! We will camp along the Cashie River at the Town of Windsor’s treehouse cabins amid the sounds of the swamp: splashes of fish\, hooting barred owls\, and singing warblers. Paddle a blackwater river and become familiar with the bottomland hardwood swamp habitat and bring new ideas and activities back to your students. The Museum has some camping gear (sleeping pads\, sleeping bags\, portable ground chairs) to loan if you don’t have your own gear. \nCredit: 20 contact hours toward CEUs or Criteria II/III for North Carolina’s Environmental Education Certification Program \nLodging: We will camp for two nights in treehouse cabins in Windsor\, NC. If the workshop fills there will be about four people per cabin. These ADA-accessible cabins are rustic with wooden platforms for sleeping; however\, some lofted sleeping areas are only accessible via a ladder. Bathrooms are a short walk away. \nTransportation: Participants can ride with the group from Raleigh departing at 2pm or meet at the destination at 4pm. Transportation will be in Museum vehicles. \nThis workshop is full. Please join the waiting list! \n*The cost of this workshop has been reduced thanks to a grant from the Albemarle-Pamlico National Estuary Partnership. Friends of the Museum discounts will not be offered. \n  \n
